Process Launch/Continuous Improvement Engineer
Coordinates advanced product quality planning processes to launch new products and engineering changes with engineering responsibility for resolving process problems and improving plant quality, delivery and cost for assigned products and processes.
Specific Duties
Ensure successful launch of new programs through effective communication, compliance and completeness of assigned APQP activities to meet customer expectations.
Coordinate and support cross functional launch team activities including:
Leading cross-functional teams to develop PFMEAs, Process Control Plans, Mistake Proofing on multiple product launch programs.
- Documenting lessons learned in all APQP activities and integrating during future launches.
- Capturing and documenting manufacturing process capability.
- Coordinating PPAP, PSW, Run at Rate with plant personnel to ensure quality requirements.
- Interacting with customer engineering or SQE representatives.
Identify and implement cost savings and process improvements and ensure best practices are used across similar processes and products.
Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
Comply with all TS16949 policies and procedures.
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of APQP including: FMEA and Control Plans, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and ISO/TS 16949.
Ability to facilitate team-based initiatives and to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated project management, planning and organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Demonstrated problem solving skills; i.e., 5 Why Analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate or Advanced knowledge of GD&T.
Computer skills; must be proficient in MS-Office including Project and PowerPoint.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
Minimum five (5) years of work experience required in Automotive Manufacturing/Quality environment.
